The commitment of Governor Udom Emmanuel in enhancing economic activities through the construction of economically viable roads, is demonstrated in the ongoing road projects across the state, including the 23.4km Eket-Etinan Road. The Commissioner for Information, Sir Charles Udoh stated this while leading the State Government Information Management Team on tour of government projects along the Etinan-Eket axis, including the 23.4km Eket-Etinan Road.

Sir Charles Udoh said, the Eket – Etinan Road which work is experiencing steady progress, will boost economic activities as goods and services especially agricultural produce will be easily evacuated from that axis while road users and motorists will have free flow of traffic with the well paved road. He expressed satisfaction with the level of work, assuring that, although the current global recession has hampered a lot of activities, Governor Udom Emmanuel in his creative and proactive leadership style, will ensure the completion of the road project on record time for the benefit of the people. Some users of the road who spoke with the media team, expressed appreciation to Governor Udom Emmanuel for the road project which has opened access and easy linkages to Etinan, Nsit Ibom, Nsit Ubium and Eket

The 23. 4Km Eket – Etinan road is an extension of the 20km Uyo – Etinan Road which is part of efforts by Governor Emmanuel at connecting all parts of the state with good network of roads including dual carriage ways. The team continues the on-the-spot inspection tour of government projects as part of measure towards heightening publicity and awareness on the life touching projects of Governor Udom Emmanuel within his 5 years administration.
